Configure and generate the Describe a Pie Chart narrative
Now you'll configure the Describe a Pie Chart App to describe the pie chart on Page 2 of the Power BI report, which shows Sales by Product.
In the Power BI report, go to Page 2.
Expand the Visualizations pane and add the Arria for Power BI add-in to the page.
With the add-in selected, expand the Fields pane and select the data fields illustrated in the pie chart (Product and Sales).
Tip
Alternatively, to create an instance of the Arria add-in that is pre-populated with the same fields as one of your charts, make a copy of the chart visualization and convert it to the Arria for Power BI chart type.
Sign in to your Arria account, then select NLG Apps.
On the Tell me about your data page, in the Sales field, change the Entity type to
Currency
, and in the Unit field enterUSD
.Scroll to the top of the wizard and click Next.
On the Select an NLG App page, scroll down and select the Describe a Pie Chart app.
Scroll to the top of the wizard and click Next.
On the Select narrative length page, select Important things.
You see a preview of the configured narrative.
Click Generate Text to see the full pie chart narrative.

Click on individual segments of the pie chart to see how the narrative changes.
Now try configuring the Describe a Line Chart app to describe the line chart on Page 2 of the sample report.
